Interview – Pearl Earl (Bailey)

Have you ever found yourself revisiting a particular dream more than once?

Yes, all throughout my life. I’ve been through different phases of dreams. Lately I’m in a giant house looking for “my” room and sometimes I find it and sometimes I don’t, but it’s always filled with other people and other rooms that all are very unique.

In your opinion, what is an essential life experience that every individual should undergo at least once?

Being in a service industry job.

What’s currently playing in your ears?

Since I just came home from tour I’m listening to meditation music and 432 deep healing frequencies because I’m detoxing my brain from all the music and socializing.

What is one book that changed your life?

Anything Thich Nhat Hanh, but particularly “The Miracle of Mindfulness”

If we’re treating, what beverage would you choose?

Michelada with a tajin rim and a tamarind stir stick

Share with us a significant dinner memory that stands out for you.

Eating dinner with all of the Pearl Earl girls as well as the other band and the booker/sound engineer and our tour manager in Bordeaux on tour. It was a real family style dinner and an amazing way to bond and relax before the show (not to mention the food, drinks and dessert were top notch)

Can you recount a challenging work experience that you consider to be the least enjoyable?

Feeling like you’ve failed at a task that you tried hard to make good. For example, I remember preparing a class and discussion that I was to teach but felt like it didn’t reach or connect with the students in the way I wanted it to.

Reflect on the day that brought you the most joy in your life.

Many days have brought me joy in many ways. Recently, I remember the joy I felt on stage at our first big show on this European tour. It was exhilarating. I also just yesterday was received with such love and sweetness by my partner, sister, and dog when I came home to Long Beach jet lagged and exhausted after this tour, and that was great joy knowing the support I have from my family.

If you had the chance to jet off anywhere right now, where would your destination be?

My bed. I’m tired. J/K – I would go back to Cebu with my partner and spend time with his family.

Who holds the title of your favorite fictional hero?

Lisa Simpson

How would you like people to remember you?

As a friend.
