Interview: Kicknut

Have you ever found yourself revisiting a particular dream more than once?

Fascinating question—being ocean obsessed, i’m constantly having rogue wave dreams, tsunami type dreams, but they are always massive wedging monsters bearing down on a social oceanfront scene—and yer evaluating lifesaving moments before you wake up in a tumbleweed panic

In your opinion, what is an essential life experience that every individual should
undergo at least once?

Being self employed. It’s a gift. You can do whatever you want, whenever you want. I can’t imagine working for one boss. Rather have 30 different bosses. I do what I want.

What’s currently playing in your ears?

Never ending, Here are the last artists that have been listened to according to Spotify: Willow, KNOWER, Casual Male, Abby Payne, The Chillest, Mrs Smith, Meshuggah, Dua Lipa, Talking Heads, Metric, Olivia Rodrigo, Jay-Z, Gabby Pahinui

What is one book that changed your life?

Sex At Dawn—Christopher Ryan. Would there be any rockstars if sex was free99?

If we’re treating, what beverage would you choose?

Vanilla Milkshake. I don’t think anyone in Kicknut really drinks, cause we ain’t sukaz, fuka.

Share with us a significant dinner memory that stands out for you.

Every wedding band meal. There is a special rating system just for wedding food. it’s just way lower than real food. We enjoy over cooked, hella salty chicken.

Can you recount a challenging work experience that you consider to be the least
enjoyable?

Dealing with westchester helicopter parents that are square af, while teaching music lessons. They ain’t all bad, but sometimes they are the scum of humanity—it’s a class war and I know the rich people we have to eat first. (Aerosmith song reference..)

Reflect on the day that brought you the most joy in your life.

Surfing this AM, dominating 97 street to 102 jetty—waves were waist to chest, firing and clean winds. Had the tanker out. Dominated.

If you had the chance to jet off anywhere right now, where would your destination
be?

Hawaii. Always and forever. Magical healing place.

Who holds the title of your favorite fictional hero?

Quaid, Total Recall, 1990. Is he good or bad—–

How would you like people to remember you?

i’d like to not remember and carry on living their life.
