Interview – Michael B Sutton

Have you ever found yourself revisiting a particular dream more than once?

Without a doubt! We’re all dreamers in this musical journey. There are these vivid dreams that keep coming back, like an addictive melody that you just can’t shake off. Sometimes, they’re like unfinished stories waiting to be told in a song or emotions that beg to be harmonized into music. Those repeating dreams, they’re the heartbeats of our creative process, urging us to turn them into soulful tunes.
Michael B Sutton: Certainly, there are musical motifs and themes that tend to reappear in my compositions. It’s like they have a life of their own, resurfacing and evolving within different contexts.

What’s currently playing in your ears?

Michael B Sutton: Currently, I’m drawn to a blend of timeless soul classics and contemporary R&B. Artists like Stevie Wonder and Marvin Gaye always find their way into my playlists, alongside newer talents like Bruno Mars and H.E.R.

Reflect on the day that brought you the most joy in your life.

Oh, that’s an easy one! The happiest day of my life was when I got married to my wonderful wife, Aneessa. We also made a beautiful duet together called “I Found Myself in You.” Check it out sometime, it’s something really special to us.

Who holds the title of your favorite fictional hero?

Batman, with his depth and dedication, resonates with me. His multifaceted character aligns with the complexities inherent in music.

How would you like people to remember you?

I hope to be remembered as a musician who crafted music that touched the heart and soul, leaving behind a legacy that resonates for years to come.
